FRES/LCS PTO hosts a number of fundraising events every year, including the Book Fair, Skate Nights, Movie Nights, and many more.
As a 501c3, FRES/LCS can accept tax deductible donations. Consider donating any amount that is comfortable for you. A five-dollar donation can put a book in a student’s hands. A twenty-five dollar donation can buy mats for the enrichment yoga program. A one-hundred dollar donation will pay for a fun and educational visit from Sub Zero Ice Cream for an entire classroom!
You can send cash or check into school with your child and the front office will make sure it gets into our hands. Make checks payable to FRES/LCS PTO.
But, you ask, what do you DO with all of that money?
We’re glad you asked. PTO funds are used for everything from sponsoring school assemblies to providing books to students and classrooms, to hosting Field Day, Skate Night and more. Each year, PTO funds provide a “school gift” to LCS and FRES. We have purchased playground equipment, enrichment program supplies, and much more. Here are a few highlights from last year:
- new Recess Cart for FRES
- Sub Zero Ice Cream Science Demonstration for second graders
- Planetarium Show for first graders
- support for Junk2Funk Artist In Residence program for third, fourth, and fifth graders
- Museum of Science in-house field trip for fifth graders
- popcorn treat for students during state testing weeks
- and more!
At the end of the school year your organization generously donated $1500 to support improvements to the LCS playground to benefit our students.
With the money from the general budget and your donation of $1500 we will have enough funding to complete this playground improvement project! Installation will occur in late August at the conclusion of our summer programming and prior to the start of school.
I cannot thank you enough for your support of our schools and students! I know the children will enjoy the new playground at LCS.
