January Update

Hello 2019! There is plenty to review this month, so let’s jump right in!

Thank You!

We’d like to thank everyone who came out for our community viewing of Polar Express. chanceWe had a great time making hot cocoa and enjoying a festive holiday afternoon.  Special thanks to Mr. Chance from the library for acting as our very own Conductor!

We had a successful holiday raffle this year. Thank you to everyone who came out and bought tickets. We sold more than 3,000 tickets and gave away some great prizes.  It was great seeing everyone at the Holiday Concert in December. We loved the decorations provided by Mr. Lamers’ students. A few volunteers revived the Hot Cocoa Bar and it was a great hit.

We had a positive response to our LCS fundraiser with Square 1. All proceeds from the event will be given to Mr. Lamers to use for expanding his art program at LCS. Thank you to everyone who made a purchase!

Thank you for tying 2018 up with such enthusiasm and joy.  We look forward to more fun in 2019!

Last year’s GameWright Game Night was a great success. The 5th graders did a wonderful job as Game Gurus, leading game play throughout the night, and raising enough money to pay for yearbooks for their whole class. We will be holding this event again, February 7 at FRES. Once again, we will be asking 5th graders to help out with this event. We’re hoping to provide a Taco Dinner at this event as well. Stay tuned for details!

February 15: FAMILY FORMAL DANCE

help wanted dancePTO will be hosting our first-ever Wilton/Lyndeborough Family Formal Dance on February 15th at FRES. There will be music, food, activities, and more to enjoy.  We will even have our very own “celebrity” deejay! We could use your help with planning the last details and setting up the event. Join the committee on Konstella.com or email freslcspto@gmail.com to get involved. If you know anyone who can donate flowers, balloons, desserts, or any other items for the event, please be in touch!

Tickets will be sold in advance. Watch for a notice coming home soon!

A note from PTO Co-Presidents

Dear friends, neighbors, and community members,

On behalf of the FRES/LCS PTO board, we want to extend a thanks to everyone who attended recent School Board meetings and who spoke up with concerns and praise for our schools. Working to insure that our schools continue to grow and reflect the needs and values of our community is an ongoing project.  We work hard as a PTO to fund quality programs and enrichment for our students and to connect parents with other families, faculty, staff and administration.

If you are able to run for a School Board position, we encourage you to do so. If you can’t run for the board but want to work with others to voice district priorities and influence policy, feel free to reach out to us at freslcspto@gmail.com. We will connect you with a group of concerned citizens who would like to be more active in that regard.

Thanks again for all you do–from baking, to skate guard, to teacher appreciation and beyond–every bit of involvement helps!

Louise & Dawn
