We’re already in the second week of September and the school year is off to a great start. We have a lot of events and opportunities coming up. Join our community on the Konstella app to stay on top of the latest news. You can also email us here at email@example.com and follow us on Facebook.
Open House & Curriculum Night
Coming up this week is Open House and Curriculum Night at FRES (Wednesday 9/12) and LCS (Thursday 9/13). Both events start at 6:30 and last an hour.
Later in the month we will enjoy a talk with Bonnie Harris, author of Connective Parenting. She’ll be presenting on Helping Your Worried Child, a topic that many parents and caregivers have expressed interest in learning about. The event is Wednesday 9/26 at 7 pm in the FRES gym. Feel free to share the event–it is free and open to all, and not restricted to district families. Spread the news!
We would like to pass along Principal O’Connell’s THANKS AND GRATITUDE to our local Fire and Police departments, which provided amazing support and services during the school evacuation last week. The gas company was able to fix the leak quickly and get the students back to school. Dennis Markaverich of the Wilton Town Hall opened the theater and ran movies for the kids while they were waiting to return to school. The custodial staff and the Wilton Mobil station provided snacks to students and coffee to faculty as well. Thank you to all!
We are looking for volunteers to help organize the FRES Book Fair, to turn our PTO Bulletin Board into something special, and to help with Skate Night. Signups on Konstella, via email, or just by letting us know in person.
Stay tuned for information about the Readathon coming home in early October. Also check your children’s folders for information about Box Tops for Music coming home soon. If you are wondering about the C.A.R.E.S. program, which kicks off with a student assembly this week, you can ask your teacher, JoAnne Dufour (our school counselor), or Mr. O’Connell for more information. It will also be highlighted in an upcoming newsletter.
Our next PTO meeting is Tuesday, October 2 at 6:30pm in the FRES library.
