Snow days, Games, Skate, and more! We have plenty of February news to report.
Our Game Night fundraiser was a huge success. We raised more than $600 for the 5th Grade Yearbooks. This means each 5th grade student can receive a FREE yearbook! Thank you to everyone who came out, shopped, cooked, and enjoyed an evening of fun. Extra thanks go to our amazing 5th Grade Game Gurus. We are looking forward to holding this event again in the future!
We have lots of kindergarten news to report this month. First off, mark your calendar for March 10 at 9am when the School District Meeting will be held at WLC. Among other topics there will be a Warrant Article vote to fund full day kindergarten in our district. This is our community’s last chance to put full day K in place for next year. Feel free to contact FRES/LCS Principal O’Connell or Superintendent Lane with your questions about the Warrant Article and the benefits of full day kindergarten.
Kindergarten Registration for 2018-19 opens March 15, 2018. Registration will be open from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lyndeborough Central School. Stop by and say hello to the PTO board while you’re there and learn a little more about our organization! Registration closes May 2nd. Get your details and forms on the SAU website.
Coming up later this spring is Granite State Fit Kids, a wonderful program that teaches 4th graders about fitness and wellness. We proudly donated funds to provide materials for this well-respected program.
We are considering inviting Lynn Lyons to speak to our community about student and family anxiety management. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
May 7-11 Scholastic Book Fair at LCS
Join us for a fun filled spring reading event at LCS. The theme will be “PAWS to Read,” and we are hoping to bring in some fuzzy friends to support student reading. We will also be looking for adult volunteers to read to our students. We’d love to include fire, police, and other community members to make this a fun event that brings the community together.
We will be working out the details of this event in March. Please contact Louise to help plan and run this fun event. If you have or know of a licensed therapy dog that might enjoy listening to our student readers, please contact Principal O’Connell’s office (603 654-6714) as soon as possible to volunteer. We will add a SignUp Genius when we have the details worked out.
Spring is around the corner and with it, the annual Celebration of Learning at FRES. We will be holding our popular basket raffle fundraiser during this event. Many, many of you have helped to make this event a success in the past by donating items and services for our baskets. We accept ALL TYPES of donations: locally made products, gift certificates, handmade items, small retailer items (Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, etc.), and more.
Contact Ariel Crotty to donate: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will also be holding our annual pasta dinner during the Celebration of Learning, so keep your eyes open for a SignUp Genius to donate pasta, sauce, and more.
State Testing Popcorn Treat April 16-20th and May 7-11
Principal O’Connell knows that state testing weeks can be very stressful for students, and he likes to reward them with a treat for putting their best effort forward. This means popcorn! A. Lot. Of. Popcorn. Help us fill the school with the aroma of freshly popped corn for an hour or two. The more, the merrier!
Sign up with our SignUp Genius below or by contacting a board member.
And don’t forget about our next meeting, March 7.
